Cornwall visits Wintershall
Salesian Cooperators from Cornwall gave some young people in their parish the opportunity to witness a moving presentation of the life of Christ.
On Friday 22nd June, six newly confirmed young people set out with adequate adult support in a minibus for the 260-mile journey to see the "Life of Christ" at Wintershall, near Godalming in Surrey. The group was hosted by Chris and Helga Frost for one night returning by midnight on the Saturday after the performance. It was a wonderful experience for everyone, organised by the Salesian Cooperators group in Truro.
The show is performed every summer with a cast of over 200. It portrays the life of Christ from the Annunciation to the time by the Sea of Galilee before Jesus finally leaves the apostles. Full use is made of the estate including a natural lake for the Baptism of Jesus and his time on the Sea of Galilee. About 3,000 people were present. There are just six performances each year, running from Tuesday to Sunday, and more details can be found on their website. It was well worth it.
