The Relics will begin their journey in Bolton with a team of young adults and volunteers on January 2nd and move through the itinerary detailed on the timetable page. At each stage of the journey pilgrims will be invited into an experience of Don Bosco’s life; his use of games and fun; an experience of one of Don Bosco’s dreams as well as time to pray beside the relics of Don Bosco. There will also be an opportunity to receive reconciliation, meet many members of the Salesian network and celebrate Mass together.
The reliquary of Don Bosco is built in the form of a bridge that spans the two hundred years that we will celebrate in 2015. That span of two hundred years is bridged by the continuing needs of the young and the overarching wisdom of The Spirit expressed in Salesian spirituality.
The work of Don Bosco still rests on this movement of the spirit in people to reach out to the many needs of young people that still surround us. In those two concerns; to be faithful to the spirit and to the needs of the young we meet Don Bosco as a brother who shares our concerns and supports us from his place in heaven.
Bring to Don Bosco your own needs for meaning, for healing and community. Bring to Don Bosco the needs of family and friends and above all the needs of young people in our countries. Invite family, friends, parishioners and anyone who works with the young to have an experience of Salesian spirituality and engage with the Salesian Network.
