News from St Benedict’s and St Clare’s

The parishes of St Benedict’s and St Clare’s in Easterhouse, Glasgow, are run as a Joint Pastoral Project by the Salesians of Don Bosco, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, and the Daughters of Charity. Each parish has its own Parish Priest and Pastoral Team of  religious and lay people, and there is a Joint Pastoral Team covering the whole project, led by Fr Jim McGarry.

Recently work has started on a major refurbishment of the Church and parish house (presbytery) of St Benedict’s. The parish priest, Fr Michael O’Meara, has moved into temporary residential accommodation and for his temporary Parish Office he has a Portacabin.

Each year there is an Evaluation Day for the Joint Pastoral Project. This year it was held on June 14th at the Westwood Business Centre in Easterhouse, and was facilitated by staff from the Craighead Institute.
