FINAL SESSION OF THE CHAPTER
The final session of the Provincial Chapter took place at Savio House from 17th - 19th April 2001. Twenty six delegates and four of the other members of the Salesian Family, who had already contributed to the working parties, took part.
During the first two days the members refined the documents on the themes for the General Chapter and the priority areas for our own province. On the second evening Fr Blamoh Harris and Fr Joe Brown gave an illustrated presentation on the Salesian work in Liberia.
The last day was devoted to the voting on the amended documents, with their various proposals, and the election of the delegate to accompany Fr Provincial to the General Chapter in Rome next year. Fr John Dickson, who had been the moderator for our Chapter, was chosen as delegate and Fr James Gallagher was chosen as substitute.
The Chapter concluded with the celebration of Mass, led by Fr Provincial, followed by a festive meal. We were privileged to have Sr Margaret Cahill, the FMA Provincial, with us for these most pleasant parts of the proceedings.
