Don Pascual Chávez in Bolton and Chertsey
The British Province has been privileged to welcome our dear Rector Major to the UK. He arrived at Manchester on Friday 25th April 2003 and spent the evening at the Provincial House in Stockport. On the Saturday and Sunday he met members of the Salesian Family from the North of the Province at Bolton and from the South of the Province at Chertsey. In total over four hundred SDBs, FMAs, Cooperators, Past Pupils, and other members of the Salesian Family participated in the event.
The photograph below shows Don Chávez in front of the chapel at Thornleigh College, Bolton, with some of the volunteers from the youth retreat centres at Savio House and Brettargh Holt
The days followed the same pattern, centred around the celebration of the Eucharist, and talks and question sessions from Don Chávez. The Rector Major also spent the lunch and tea breaks chatting with the members of the Salesian Family who attended.
Here are the talks that he gave, kindly sent by his secretary, Fr Juan José Bartolomé. They are in Word format.
