Billy receives his certificate from Sharon Wilkie Jones

In recognition of his help for homeless people in Bolton, Billy Higham, a Year 7 student at Thornleigh Salesian College, has received the Community Champion Certificate from SHARE, (Students Homelessness Awareness Raising Enterprise) an initiative set up by Bolton Sixth Form College, aiming to improve literacy skills and raise awareness of homelessness through creativity.

Billy  ‘encapsulates the qualities of a good citizen’, and the certificate together with the honour of becoming a SHARE Ambassador, was given in recognition of the help he has given to homeless people in Bolton.

This caring young man began volunteering to help homeless people while he was still at primary school, where he organised collections of donated items for the charity Hope4homeless.

He was presented with his award by Sharon Wilkie Jones, a Senior Tutor and Co-Founder of SHARE, at Bolton Sixth Form College, and Thornleigh College and the whole Salesian Family are very proud of him.
