Join us on a pilgrimage through our Sacred Lands

SacredLandsFinSocMed2019 500

In collaboration with the Irish Salesian Province, we have produced a series of programmes to explore the sacred lands of Britain and Ireland. Join us from 10 – 17 August 2019, as we explore the sacred sites in southern England, walking Christian routes, and exploring cathedrals and abbeys, Neolithic sites and a Bronze Age causeway. The group size is strictly limited to just 8, so book soon!

The itinerary, which is subject to confirmation, includes visits to Canterbury, Stonehenge and Avebury, Oxford, Caversham and Ely. In the spirit of pilgrimage through the ages, there are opportunities for prayer and Mass at inspiring locations, and arrangements are simple.

Accommodation is at campsites – bring your own tent – on a bed-and-breakfast basis, except for lunch and a light dinner on one day, and a celebratory meal at the end. There will be plenty of free time for further exploration, and for you to find places to eat for the rest of the meals.

Travel is by minibus, from Bolton, but if you prefer, you can travel by train to meet the group at Canterbury, and return independently from Ely.

The programme involves a moderate amount of walking, and for one visit, quite a steep walk in required. All participants must be over 18.

The cost including minibus travel from Bolton and back is £250 per person. If you are making your own travel arrangements at the start and end, the minibus will meet you at Canterbury station, and drop you at Ely station at the end of the pilgrimage.

A non-returnable deposit of £100 is required as soon as possible to secure your place, with the balance to be paid by 1 August 2019.
