Golden Jubilarians at Battersea

On Saturday 20th July 2002 there were Celebrations at Battersea for two of this year's Golden Jubilarians, Fr Jim Pilling and Fr Patrick McGrath. Fr Jim served as Provincial Secretary before re-qualifying as a Psychiatric Social Worker and working at the Salesian School in Blaisdon. Fr Pat taught at Blaisdon and Cowley and then moved to Battersea where he was Head of History; more recently he has been ministering in the Sacred Heart Parish.
At the Mass in the Sacred Heart Church Fr Albert Carette (who has five extra years of ordination under his hat) delighted the congregation with his amusing homily. Later the celebration moved to the School Hall for speeches, the cutting of cakes, and energetic entertainment. The pictures below were kindly supplied by John Ward.
