Prayers to Close My Day

David O'Malley SDB

£7.00

When Adam and Eve saw God walking in their garden, in the cool of the evening, they hid themselves in shame. When Christians come to the end of their day, they are encouraged instead to walk, with a loving God, through all that has happened.

The Church has always encouraged us to find some time for prayer and reflection. It is a rich tradition, encouraged in childhood and developed in the official Prayer of the Church. The tangle of achievement, change and challenge, that makes up each day is a rich source of personal wisdom and growth. But it is also the place where we come face to face with God.
This book is a way to reflect on the day, either as a group, or to use as a personal bedside prayer book. It is based on the Prayer of the Church, combining aspects of the evening prayer of the church with night prayer. The format has emerged from use in Salesian communities, and much of the spirituality comes from the optimistic and gentle inspiration of St Francis de Sales. It challenges us to find God in the evening and grow in awareness of God
