"Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime." – Martin Luther King Jr.

At this special time of year, we have books to inspire and delight you. Accompany your little ones 'On the Road to Emmaus' or through 'Via Lucis: The Way of the Light'. Or perhaps, reflect with Fr Michael on the Gospel resurrection narratives in 'Alive'.

Blessed Francis Kesy and his Companions

Blessed Francis Kesy and his Companions

Date: 12th June 2020

Francis Kesy and his four companions attended the Salesian oratory in Poznan, Poland, and were involved in the youth work there. Following the Nazi occupation, the Salesian house was taken over as a barracks, and the young people gathered in the woods, to continue their prayer and the work of the youth groups.

In September 1940, they were arrested, accused of belonging to an illegal organisation. After almost two years in prison, they were sentenced to death for high treason, and were guillotined in a prison in Dresden on 24th August 1942.

At the time of their deaths, they were aged 19 - 23.
