Feast of Blessed Louis Variara

Today marks the feast of Blessed Louis (Luigi) Variara.
Blessed Louis Variara, was an Italian priest that worked mostly in Colombia and South America. He established his own Religious Congregation, the Daughters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, which is present in Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea. The Congregation was originally established to allow lepers and the children of lepers to enter into Religious life.
