Mass on Sunday was a very special one at St James' Bootle, as the young people of the parish were at the centre of the National Youth Sunday Mass.

Fr Jakub Rusniak SDB said, "On this day, we celebrate the young people in our parish and community and all the gifts and talents they share with us".

The theme for this year's NYS was Significance, taken from Christus Vivit, Pope Francis' Apostolic Exhortation to young people: 'For him, you have worth; you are not insignificant. You are important to him, for you are the work of his hands. That is why he is concerned about you and looks to you with affection.' (Christus Vivit, 115).

The focus on the young continued later, as the parish's Youth Active took the young people off to have some fun at an inflatables theme park in Bootle. (below)
