"Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime." – Martin Luther King Jr.

At this special time of year, we have books to inspire and delight you. Accompany your little ones 'On the Road to Emmaus' or through 'Via Lucis: The Way of the Light'. Or perhaps, reflect with Fr Michael on the Gospel resurrection narratives in 'Alive'.

Supporting grieving young people during lockdown

As our Education delegate, Fr David O'Malley SDB is aware of school communities that are dealing with deaths of family members, parents and associates. "The usual pattern of support is not possible at this time, especially since the experience of dying and also funerals is far more stark than normal," he writes, "It is not easy and the limitations of technology appear starkly here"

Fr David hopes everyone is aware of the work of CRUSE, which has a website here offering advice and support for anyone suffering bereavement, and specifically addressing coping with grief in isolation. The organisation also has a dedicated site for bereaved young people, Hope Again (Linked below under 'More information').

Fr David adds, "For us Salesians, the answer is always Don Bosco's words, 'let people know that they are loved', in a way that the situation calls for. Each case is individual and happens in the context of a unique pattern of relationships. ... you have our prayers each day for your school and its needs."
