Keeping the parish connected

While many people are now used to online masses, and some enjoy the opportunity of virtual visits to churches all over the world, live-streamed masses can't provide the social element of gathering before and after Mass, but St Gregory's Bollington has found a solution.
Parishioners have been organising Zoom coffee at 11;30 on Sundays, after the live Mass from St Alban's Macclesfield which most of the congregation watch. Up to 17 families gather online for coffee and a chat, helping to keep important social connections going.
The Parish Council also arranged the filming of masses celebrated by Fr Tony Fernandes SDB on Pentecost and Corpus Christi, and distributed DVD copies to members of the parish. They have also been busy helping Fr Tony to make preparations for reopening the church for private prayer. From this weekend, the church will be open on Saturdays from 6pm to 7pm, and on Sundays from 10:30am to 11:30am.
