"Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime." – Martin Luther King Jr.

At this special time of year, we have books to inspire and delight you. Accompany your little ones 'On the Road to Emmaus' or through 'Via Lucis: The Way of the Light'. Or perhaps, reflect with Fr Michael on the Gospel resurrection narratives in 'Alive'.

Hope: a gift for 2021

Each year, the Rector Major offers a 'strenna' (Italian for 'gift') to the worldwide Salesian Family, as a theme to guide our thoughts, prayers and actions for the next twelve months. In 2021, Fr Angel's Strenna is 'Moved by hope', inspired by our current global pandemic and the biblical passage 'See, I am making all things new' (Revelation 21:5).

As Christians, we are characterised by hope, and as a Salesian Family, we follow Don Bosco in seeking positive ways help those in need, especially the young, doing all we can to share the joy and hope of God even in the darkest of times.

In the video below, Fr Angel outlines the strenna, and others in the Salesian Family speak about reaching out to people in these times of isolation, loneliness, loss and great material need, and the importance of hope in our present situation.

You can also download Fr Angel's full commentary on the Strenna 2021 from sdb.org: click the 'More information' link below. Please also consider joining the Salesian Cooperators for their Online Retreat Day for the Feast of Don Bosco, which takes the Strenna as its theme.
