Salesian Cooperators - Day of Reflection, Pilgrims of Hope - Battersea

On Saturday 16th November, over 50 cooperators from Battersea (now South London), Chertsey and Cowley centres came together with the Cooperators Provincial Council, FMA Sisters and SDBs from the Battersea Community for the day of reflection.

Kate Wilkinson, Cooperator coordinator, welcomed everyone and introduced the Provincial council. Dan Antonio, in charge of formation, led the opening prayer before Fr Francis Preston SDB led the reflection on Pilgrims of Hope.
Fr Francis explored the occasion of Don Bosco meeting Don Calosso near the Becchi which led to Don Calosso mentoring Don Bosco in his priestly vocation, before discussing Pope Francis' encouragement of needing to help several groups of people to help improve their situations.

The group was then led through two reflections: the first about John and how he brought God back into his life, and the second about Michael Magone's death and Don Bosco's account of his passing.

The day finished with Mass in the Salesian Chapel, led by Fr Francis and Fr David O'Malley SDB.

A more thorough written by Bernard O'Neill, with some of the reflection material can be found below.
