"Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime." – Martin Luther King Jr.

At this special time of year, we have books to inspire and delight you. Accompany your little ones 'On the Road to Emmaus' or through 'Via Lucis: The Way of the Light'. Or perhaps, reflect with Fr Michael on the Gospel resurrection narratives in 'Alive'.

Share the cuppa!

In the early days of Jesus' ministry, John the Baptist pointed to Him and told his own followers, "There is the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!". Andrew and his unnamed friend follow Jesus, at first at a distance—some might even say that they stalked him! It is when Jesus turns and simply demands "what do you want?" that they are forced to ask the question, ... Read More »

Sunday Reflection - 21st Sunday of Ordinary Time

Only last week we heard that beautiful 'Magnificat' of Mary. Like Jesus in his famous mission statement in the Nazareth Synagogue, she points to how the reign of God might seem very unusual in purely human terms: everything is turned on its head. While the gospel of Luke is generally seen as the gospel of compassion, today Jesus is uncompromising, as he urges to 'enter by the narrow gate'! He does... Read More »

The Oscar, the 'Godfather' and Littlefeather.

If you are movie fan like me, then you will enjoy the speculation and guess work surrounding the nominations for the BAFTA's, Golden Globes, and the Oscars. Some years it is going to be obvious who will go home with a shed-full of awards: the superb 1993 film, 'Schindler's List' won seven Oscars and seven BATFTAs and is still considered to be one of the... Sunday Reflection - Feast of the Assumption

Sunday Reflection - Feast of the Assumption

Posted: Fri, 12 Aug 2022 07:06

I have always loved this feast of our Blessed Mother: it reminds us of how much God loved her— God calls Mary to live the fullness of heaven on her death. The pilgrim in Jerusalem will want to visit the Upper Room; it is a very special place. The home of the original Eucharist became the place of the first Christian lockdown. Scripture shares that the disciples were gathered with Mary in prayer... Read More »
