Sunday Reflection - Palm Sunday (Year B)
Posted: Fri, 22 Mar 2024 09:13
Today we begin that most sacred week of Christian history; as we enter Holy Week, we enter, not with a sense of triumphalism, but in a true spirit of humility. In my family home back in Ireland, I am so lucky to have two pet donkeys; in the summer lockdown of 2020, I felt privileged to share their company. Their trust and companionship, helped no doubt by a steady supply of carrots, was a great comfort... Read More »

He seems to have been a member of the Jewish court, the Sanhedrin and strongly urged his colleagues to LISTEN to what Jesus had to say before they sentence him. Finally, we meet him at the end of the gospel when he and Joseph of Aramathea buried the body of Jesus... Read More »

Sunday Reflection - 3rd Sunday of Lent (Year B)
Posted: Fri, 1 Mar 2024 07:22
Today we turn to John's gospel and share his account of the cleansing of the Temple. Unlike the Synoptic gospels, John does not place this event at the start of Holy Week; rather he places this unusual event at of start of the public ministry of Jesus, coming just after the miracle at Cana. At the wedding feast we see the sign of the Messianic Reign of God: extraordinary comes from the ordinary; there... Read More »
