Weekend Gathering for Salesian Brothers

A wonderful weekend of the gathering of brothers in initial Formation at Savio House. There were 20 brothers from 10 different nationalities who came together for the first time in the new academic year to learn about "self-compassion" and "self-care", under the guidance of doctor Jim McManus, and the accompany of Fr. I love the tapestries that hang in Los Angeles Cathedral, created by John Nava. His 'Communion of the Saints' always takes my breath away: so often the statues or paintings of Saints that adorn our churches depict them as 'other worldly' and too good to be true - they are literally 'plaster-cast Saints'.
