Our local event took place at Barnstondale Activity Centre on the Wirral. Working with a number of Salesian volunteers, the Salesian Sisters prepared a programme full of memorable moments and surprises. From ice-breaker games, workshops run by invited guests to testimonies, moments of prayer and reflection, fair rides and the celebration Mass at the end – World Youth Day at Home had everything one could hope for and more!
But perhaps the most enjoyable thing was the family atmosphere and the sense of community. Participants arrived from all across the country – south and north. Different schools and centres –all united in the same Salesian Spirit and joy of sharing the time together. Something that Don Bosco and Mary Mazarello would definitely be very proud of!
World Youth Day at Home was a definitely a highlight and something that we will remember for a long time!

"On the last morning, Fr Stephen asked us where we have seen and touched God this weekend: in each and every young person who took part, in the generosity and joy of the staff who accompanied them and in the faith, spirit and goodness of the OUTSTANDING team who organised it. Thank you all - it was an amazing experience - to now be lived in our everyday lives."
