£8.80 per hour
27.5 hours per week


We are looking for a Housekeeper who is not just a cleaner but a 'Homemaker' and enjoys going the extra mile when it comes to hospitality and attention to detail.


Savio House is a professional residential youth retreat centre as well as home to a community of Salesian priests, brothers and lay workers. It is a place of friendship and hospitality.


You will be required to provide high quality housekeeping services across the whole site, often to very tight schedules (e.g. changeover days). General housekeeping duties will include cleaning and changing beds (including bunk beds); cleaning dormitories, toilets and showers; vacuuming and dusting; deep cleaning; as well as washing up, laundry and ironing of bedding/household laundry.


You must be organised, able to work on your own initiative and be trustworthy. You will be well presented and have a friendly nature.


Hours of work: Monday to Friday
8.30am to 3.30pm (3 days)
8.30am to 12.30pm (2 days)

Residential Retreat Team/Programme Leader
Bollington, Macclesfield
Salary: £17,500 - £20,000pa dependent on experience
(Accommodation included)


Savio House is seeking an inspirational and committed practising Catholic to lead our retreat team of young volunteers and community members in the delivery of engaging, thought provoking retreat programmes to the young people that we serve.


The role is a residential fixed term post for two years. It carries responsibility for the day to day management of the retreat team, retreat experience and programme development.


You will be educated to degree level, or have equivalent knowledge, with professional experience of working with young people. You will have strong motivational skills with a creative flair and enjoy spending time with young people. An ability to keep things in proportion and be resilient are key to the success of this role.


The role requires excellent organisation, administration and leadership skills with an ability to continually reassess priorities. You will be required to lead the majority of retreats which includes working evenings and weekends. Some experience of community living would be an advantage.


Post to commence in August 2020.
