Blessed Zepherin Namucura was the son of the chief of the Araucano Indians of the Argentine Pampas and was destined to be the successor to his father as the leader of this fierce, war-like tribe. However, Zepherin's ambition was to lead his people to the religion of the one true God, and he spent his short life dedicated to becoming a Salesian priest to evangelise his people.
