St Louis Orione
Date: 16th May 2020
St Louis studied at the Oratory in Valdocco, where he became close to Don Bosco. The Salesian charism and the Oratory model affected him deeply, and while he did not feel called to become a Salesian, by the time he was 21, he had set up his own oratory for poor boys, and went onto found the Sons of Divine Providence and the Little Missionary Sisters of Charity, congregations which helped the poor and marginalised of all ages. He is patron saint of the homeless and abandoned.
