"Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime." – Martin Luther King Jr.

At this special time of year, we have books to inspire and delight you. Accompany your little ones 'On the Road to Emmaus' or through 'Via Lucis: The Way of the Light'. Or perhaps, reflect with Fr Michael on the Gospel resurrection narratives in 'Alive'.

Christmas Message - Sr Pauline Clark FMA

"and they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in the manger "

(Luke 2:16)

This is the traditional picture of Christmas, a family gathered together with their family, This is a peaceful scene after the turmoil of an unexpected pregnancy, a journey away from home, and the process of giving birth. Mary must have been glad that all had gone well and that she could now enjoy a few moments of peace and quiet. The scripture tells us that the shepherds went with haste to see this new-born king, and then they are surprised to see a baby in a manger, guarded by young parents - but they too entered into the peace and beauty of this scene. The same invitation is offered to each of us - to be watchful, to slow down and to savour the special moments in life.

Today and over the next few days as we enjoy the company of family and friends, let us gift ourselves with time to rest, relax, to savour being present to each other and to delight in the simple things of life. This gift to ourselves, if we make space to welcome the Christ Child has the possibility of changing our lives forever. Will we have the courage to do this?

I wish you all a peaceful and blessed Christmas.

God Bless

Sr Pauline
