Confirmation Retreat 2023

The partnership confirmation programme had envisaged having a day of retreat in preparation for the Sacrament of confirmation. It was hosted in the Thornleigh chapel and Thornleigh House. 56 confirmation candidates attended the retreat. It was organised on a carousel – with sacrament of reconciliation, confirmation name and saint and what do you do after the confirmation. We had the opportunity to pray at the beginning of the retreat with moments of exposition of the blessed sacrament and an introduction to the day. Followed by the sessions, which had various activities that involved everyone. The retreat programme concluded by 2.00pm and most of the candidates helped with the family fun activities that were organised in the Thornleigh school yard. Bishop John will be celebrating the confirmation with us on Thursday 13th July 2023 in the Thornleigh Chapel.

Family Fun Day

After number of years, the Family Fun Day is back to Thornleigh. With lots of families turning with children to join fun activities and food on Saturday 17th, June. It was a busy school yard with chance games, fun activities, food and so on. Everyone had a good day, with staff and students from Thornleigh, supporting local parishes to organise the event. The whole event was to raise awareness of the refugee week 2023 with Caritas. Concluded with a Saturday vigil mass in the Thornleigh Chapel. Well done, team and Parishes. Looking forwards to the next one.
