The first half-term of the school year is always an exciting time for students as they get back to their weekly routine.

So let us share some of the activities that the schools have been doing in their first half-term.

At Thornleigh Salesian College, Bolton, pupils have been taking part in their Duke of Edinburgh scheme.
They have been away for their qualifying expedition, learning how to pitch their tents, going hiking and having a campfire.

Also at Thornleigh, the college welcomed CAFOD youth leaders from schools across Lancaster and Salford. They were learning about the work they can be doing and learning about the work that CAFOD does.

At Salesian School, Chertsey, pupils have also been taking part completing their Duke of Edinburgh scheme.
Over 280 students completed their Bronze and Silver DofE programmes. This has meant that Salesian School, has the most successful DofE programme in England.

And shortly after the Great British Bake Off restarted, students tried their hand at baking with a European theme to celebrate European Day of Languages.

In Farnborough, students studying Classics, are currently in Rome to study the Roman architecture, visiting the Vatican and Eternal City.

They have also very recently held their 'Run for Sean' event which raises money for the Sean Devereux Childrens Fund. Students and Staff all took part with some wearing costumes as they ran.

At St John Bosco Arts College in Croxteth, to celebrate Harry Potter Books day on Thursday 12 October, students were invited to go to school in fancy dress, or take photos with Harry Potter props to celebrate.

In Battersea, students at St John Bosco College, have held their annual Harvest Festival, and been collecting tinned and dried food for the Wandsworth Food Bank.

And at Salesian Academy, Bootle, students in Years 10 and 11, were visited by Action Jackson, a UK Ambassador for Happiness. He delivered a session to students about self-motivation, resilience and self-esteem, and the session was enjoyed by all the students that attended. He has also recently been to St John Bosco College in Battersea!
