"Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime." – Martin Luther King Jr.

At this special time of year, we have books to inspire and delight you. Accompany your little ones 'On the Road to Emmaus' or through 'Via Lucis: The Way of the Light'. Or perhaps, reflect with Fr Michael on the Gospel resurrection narratives in 'Alive'.

Salesians of Auschwitz Exhibition for schools

To accompany his forthcoming book on the Salesian Martyrs of Auschwitz, Dr Alasdair Richardson has produced an exhibition, which will be available to schools and parishes. He is also working on a series of resources for RE teachers. Alasdair has many years of experience in religious education, and is now Senior Lecturer in Religious Education at the University of Winchester, specialising in Holocaust education. Alasdair is a Salesian Cooperator, and a Salesian Past Pupil, so the resources he is creating will be especially useful in our Salesian schools.

The exhibition consists of five panels. The first outlines the Salesians' history in Poland, where they still have a school and parish in Oświęcim, and of the Auschwitz camp. Three further panels tell the stories of three of the Salesians sent to the camp, and the final panel looks at their legacy.

The exhibition is free though there may need to be a postage cost, and is available for schools and parishes to host during the coming year.

The Salesian Martyrs of Auschwitz will be published by Don Bosco Publications in January 2021.

If you would like to host the exhibition, or would like to hear more about the resources, please email us.
